My Parents

These are my parents. Both were born in 1935 (February 2nd for my Dad and April 1st for my Mom). My mother passed away on Janurary 29th, 1994 and my father passed away on August 11th, 2012.

I miss them both so much!

  • Here is Grand Slim in "teaching mode".  He was showing everyone how to properly handle a gun.  He always had so much patience for teaching others.

  • Toni's office was kind enough to send us beautiful flowers in a very special St. Frances vase / statue (which is sitting outside of our house today).

  • Slim's interment was on October 12th, 2012 at 13:30.  These were his remains and roses, which Sue brought, for us to lay at his grave.

  • After the hole was filled, straw and grass was placed on top.  Then, all of us laid roses on the grave.  I placed the picture you see next to his temporary marker.  I also sent "SK" in Morse code for Slim.  It is an old Amateur Radio and military tradition to send this when a radio operator passes away.  It means "Silent Key".
